Candle Care & Safety
A few simple habits keep your candles beautiful and your home safe.
Decorative candle — not edible. Keep away from children. Many of our candles look like real sweets and desserts, so please keep them out of reach of little hands and pets.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children, pets and anything flammable (curtains, paper, décor).
- Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts.
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch (about 6 mm) before each use.
- Soy wax is soft and can melt in heat — store candles in a cool, shaded place away from direct sunlight.
Getting the best burn
- Many of our candles are made to be displayed as much as burned. If you light one, place it on a plate or tray — shaped candles can drip as they melt.
- Keep the flame away from drafts, fans and air-conditioner vents so it burns steadily.
- Put the candle out if the flame gets too tall or starts to smoke, trim the wick, and relight.
- Use a snuffer or gently blow the candle out, and let it cool completely before moving it.
